Buckets of Love

Hello, hello!  I'm up on the Gerda Steiner Designs Blog again, yay!!!  I have a sweet one layer watercolored card that I've created using the Buckets of Love Stamp Set.  Check it out...

To create this card I started by stamping the bucket of hearts image repeatedly on my front panel of watercolor cardstock.  Next I went in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolor set and went about making a rainbow of buckets.  I just love rainbows, and thought this would really brighten the card up.  I added my sentiment in the bottom right hand corner and finished the card off with some tickles and clear sequins.

Thanks so much for swinging by today, and make sure you grab the Buckets of Love Stamp Set just in time for Valentines Day!

Have A Purr-fect Day

Hello! Today I am up on the Gerda Steiner Design Blog using the newly released Bucket's of Love Stamp Set.  This set has some super cute kitties in it that are just begging to be colored and loved!

To create this card I stamped this cute kitty onto watercolored cardstock and used my Gansai Tambi Set to watercolor him in.  I then set this off to the side to dry.  Next, I stamped my sentiment onto a different panel of watercolor cardstock and added various colors to the background with a water brush and my Clean Color Brush Markers.  I dropped a few drops of pink spritz and heat set this.  I fussy cut out my cat image and diecut my panel before layering them together.  This was then added to my cardbase with a layer of foiled acetate and I added some hearts from my scrap pile.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Easy DIY Treat Tags with DCWV

The DIY Project Stack®: Tags (available at your Michaels Store) is another one of those stacks that just makes life simpler, while still adding that personalized touch!  With Valentine's Day just around the corner I tend to create lots of goodie bags, and I thought these tags would make it easy to keep track of where each goodie bag is going. Check them out…

These tags went together quickly as all you have to do is punch them out and embellish! Plus the touch of gold foil is just drool worthy. Here is a peek at what my tags started out looking like…

And with a few embellishments they turned into these…

And finally into this...

90th Birthday with Altenew

Happy Monday!  I was asked to create a card for a family members 90th Birthday, and as I was looking around for some inspiration I came across the latest Altenew Challenge and I immediately had an idea, so I went with it...

To create this card I used the Altenew Beautiful Day Stamp Set.  I started by embossing all of my images onto a heavy weight vellum with Gold embossing powder.  I then colored them all in with various Copic Markers, using the colors in the Inspiration photo.  Once they were colored I fussy cut everything out and started arranging them onto my cardbase.  I also die cut some numbers in gold foil.  Tips about coloring on vellum: Use darker colors than you might think if you want them to really show through, also give the coloring some time to dry before adding the next color.  Here is a close up of the shine...

I wish I had better photos to share with you of this card, and how beautiful it is in person but unfortunately it needed to go out in the mail right away and it just so happened to be a stormy day, so I had no luck with lighting.  However, the point of this card is to make someone happy and I'm sure it will have done just that.

Thanks so much for popping by today and Happy Crafting!

Born Classy : The Ton Stamps Challenge

Hello!  So I'm popping in on a Sunday to share a fun watercolored card based on the Ton Stamps Challenge: Celebrate!  I love the Ton Stamps, and recently they had an incredible release followed with a new monthly challenge blog, eeeekkk!!!!  So here is my take on the challenge...

As I was in need of a Birthday card I reached for my Born Classy Stamp Set and just had fun!  I love the fashionably elegant girl and the way you can personalize her dress.  I started by watercoloring her and her dress first.  Once this was dry I added in my background.  All of my images were stamped with Versafine Ink, except for the gold dots which were stamped and embossed in gold.  I added one final touch of shimmer to the panel by flicking some paint from my Gansai Tambi Starry Night Watercolor set.  I then layered the panel with a strip of Burnished Rose Gold Foil Tape on the left hand side.  And of course it needed some sequins to complete the look, so I busted out my Gala Invitation and Purple Ball Gown Couture Mixes.

Gerda Steiner Guest Designer

Hello and Happy Friday!!! It is Lisa Lahiff again on the Gerda Steiner Designs Blog and I'm back with one more cute card using the You're Koalafied Stamp Set, and this time I'm shaking things up...

To create this fun shaker I've used the You're Koalafied Stamp Set and Matching Dies.  I stamped all of my images onto separate cardstock and colored them in with Copic Markers before die cutting them out.  Next I created my shaker with patterned paper, acetate, sequins and foam adhesive.  I adhered the koala in the tree behind the first heart cut but in front of the acetate so it wouldn't get lost in a sea of heart sequins, ha!  Since the patterned paper had words all over it I didn't feel it needed a sentiment so I finished it off with a pink bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Love You to the Moon - STAMPlorations Challenge

Hello, hello my wonderful friends!  Today is when the STAMPlorations CAS team and GD's share more projects based on this months challenge with a twist as a way to hopefully inspire you to join in!  This month the twist is the color: Silver/Gray.  Now if you know me then you know that I love a good sentiment set and the Dee's Artsy Impressions Power of Words Stamp set is one of those...

To create this card I started by cutting my partnered paper that I wanted to use.  I then stamped the sentiment next to the perfect little space ship.  I dressed the moon and stars up with some tickles and set it off to dry.  I then cut a heart out and layered it all onto my cardbase.  Once the moon and stars were completely dry I die cut the whole panel with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Die.  I wanted the stitching to have a more real effect by having it go through all of the layers and that is why I die cut it last.

Now onto some enabling, bwahahaha!
One week only! All stamps in the Dee's Artsy Impressions line are automatically 10% off! Plus Kathryn and Christmas is 20% off! Sale ends Monday, January 23.

Not only that, but I also have a code you can use to save even more!!! yay!!!

Avery Elle + Ellen Hutson Mix Up

Hi!  If you are here for the Callin All Sistahs Blog Hop Click here, thank you!!!

I just wanted to pop in one more time today to share this fun mix up card for the Ellen Hutson Mix Up Challenge with Avery Elle...

To create this card I actually used a left over die cut piece from a previous Ellen Hutson Challenge that you can see by clicking here.  I hate throwing things away and this is the perfect example as to why you never know what you can do with those scraps!  My scrap piece had been created by turning some of my Essentials by Ellen Bold Blossom Stand Alone dies into stamps, and I used various pigment inks.  I then diecut my panel and this is what I had left.  For the rest of my card I used the Avery Elle Geek Love Elements Die set and the sentiment came from the Avery Elle Sending You Stamp Set.  I added a few sequins and my card was finished! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Callin' All Sistahs! - Blog Hop Time!

Hello!  It is the 17th of the month and that means it is time to hop along with all the Sistahs, be inspired, have a chance to win some prizes, and more importantly remember to perform your monthly breast examination.  That is what this hop is all about!  So feel 'em up, be aware, and have fun!  Here is the super CAS card I've created for this month's hop...

To create this card I started by partial die cutting the ribbon on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" panel with the Ruffled Ribbon Fri-die, and then trimmed the rest of the edge off.  Next I stamped the ribbon image and sentiment from the Hope Ribbon Stamp Set.  I then created a score line along the top so I could attach it to a second panel.  I then added one more sentiment along the exposed inside panel from the same set.

Something exciting to announce is that there is now an exclusive Pretty Pink Posh Sequin Mix offered in the Callin' All Sistahs section of the CAS-ual Fridays Store to help us support Breast Cancer Awareness.  Remember that all products bought from this section Michele makes a donation of 50% of these profits to  Also, I have a code for you to use to save a little when you go shopping, so make sure you scroll down for that :)!

Now make sure you get to as many stops on this hop as you can, as you will also be entered to win 1 of 2 gift certificates available! yay!!!  All comments must be left by 12 am January 19th.

Guest Designer Surprise Hug

Hello!  It is Lisa Lahiff back here with another Guest Design Post for Gerda Steiner Designs!  I just can't get enough of the super cute Koalas in the You're Koalafied Stamp Set, I mean come on, just look at this little guy...

And guess what else... he's back in stock! yay!!!  To create this card I started by embossing my heart onto the front of my Kraft card base.  I then stamped my little koala with Memento ink several times for a clean and dark image.  I also added the sentiment and smaller hearts at this time.  To make sure my colors would stand out against the kraft I used my PrismaColored Pencils, and more specifically I started by coloring the koala and heart in with my white pencil first and then added my colors over the top.

Now hurry and snatch this guy up before he sells out again!  And while you are there you have to check out some of the other super cute critter sets available!

MarkerPOP Challenge

Hiya!  Today starts a new challenge on the MarkerPOP Blog, and I just love the magical photo we have to inspire you with...

So pretty!  And this is what I was inspired to create...

To create this card I started by diecutting my "starry" sky.  I actually used the My Favorite Things Snowfall Horizontal Die.  When I added some gold cardstock behind it, it worked perfectly as stars.  Next I diecut my grass with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders Die 1 with a dark green cardstock to play into the night scene.  I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from the MFT Birthday Bears Stamp Set.  I then stamped the bear and stars onto separate cardstock and colored them in with Copic Markers.  I wanted it to look like the star was lighting up in the bears hands so I used a gradual darker brown on one side of the bear and lighter colors on the side holding the star.  I then added some tickles to the stars for a final touch.

I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge!  All products are welcome as long as you use some form of markers carried in the store you're project is welcome!

Mr. & Mrs. - Take #3 on Marble

.... aaaaannnndddd I'm back with take #3 for the Winnie and Walter Gossip Column with Taheerah Atachia - Marble.  This final card plays off of my earlier card, scroll down if you would like to see that one too, by using the other part of my marble paneling and creating a larger frame from my original cut...

Since the marbled colors were so bright I wanted to mute them slightly by using a gray cardstock behind the frame.  I then used The Big, the Bold, and the Extras Stamp Set for the Mr., Mrs., Roses, and leaves.  The & came from The Big, the Bold, and the Merry Stamp Set.  The roses and leaves were stamped and embossed onto a heavy weight vellum and adhered in the corners of the frame.  Neither of my photos capture the shimmer and shine of the roses, but the focus is truly on the marbled frame as was the challenge.

I hope you have liked my take on this latest column masterpiece, and I hope that you yourself were inspired to take the plunge and either create your own marbled paper with nail polish as I have done or use some other means to incorporate marbling into your work.  Taheerah has so much inspiration, and information in her article that you really must take a peek.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Wishing You - Marbling Take #2

Hiya!  If you happened to stop by yesterday then you were able to check out my first take on the new Gossip Column with Taheerah Atachia  all about Marble.  Today I am showing two more cards created from my own homemade marble papers.  This first card uses my marbled pieces in two different ways... 1. as an embellishment and 2. as a background...

Isn't this just so cool?!  I can't stop playing with these things I tell ya!  Take a closer look...

To create this card I used the Winnie and Walter Dies: The Essentials: Audrey Cutaways for the background panel, and the True Multifaceted Star Cutaway.  I layered the star with some foam adhesive.  I then stamped my sentiment over my panel from the Wishing You Stamp Set in an archival ink.  I then finished this card off with some silver enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I'll be back later with one more marble card to share!

Marble(ing) - Gossip Column #6

Hello!  Happy Friday!!!  Today I'm popping in to share some cards that I've created inspired by latest Gossip Column written by the amazing Taheerah Atchia!  Yay!!!  This month she has taught us, inspired us, and simply had me drooling for all things marble.  So I had to join in!  ( You must read her article, you will feel so smart afterward too.  Just think of the kind of dinner conversation you can have later! Or heck, who you might be able to impress wink wink...)  Any who, I digress and with that said I will share a photo of my own projects that I created based on 4 card stock panels that I marbled myself using the nail polish technique.  And she was not kidding when she said this stuff is addictive, because I almost couldn't stop, and sadly my blue nail polish is no longer with us, but it's all in the name of art, right?!  So check it out...

It was really fun to watch the colors spread out in the water, and each time I dipped my cardstock in I had no clue out they would turn out.  Addicting!

Now onto my first creation...

To create this card I took one of my panels and die cut a large heart.  I still had some spots left on my panel so I stamped and die cut the word love from the So Tweet Stamp Set, and layered it over the heart with foam adhesive.  Next I stamped my little bird and hair bow onto separate cardstock and colored them in with Copics before using the matching dies to cut them out.  When I layered them onto my cardbase it still felt a bit empty so I used some heart images from the same set and stamped them randomly, adding some matching splashes from one of my Ink Sprays.  Once this was dry I added the heart, bird and sentiment.  It was still missing something, so I went back and drew on some stitching and added some clear sequins.  Ta-da!

I hope you will stop by for my other two cards that I!

Every. Single. Day.

Hi!  I'm up on the CAS-ual Friday's Blog today sharing a card that I thought was very befitting for the new year, take a peek...

Like seriously, who doesn't need a sentiment like that looking them in the face each day?!  I Love it!  Both the sentiment and butterflies come from the BE Stamp Set.  To create the multi colored butterflies I used my Distress Markers to color the butterfly image while it was on my clear stamping block.  I then spritzed water in the air and ran my stamp up through the mist before stamping it onto watercolor cardstock.  I do this so that when I stamp the image I still get clean and crisp stamping results.  If you are wanting a more watercolored look then I suggest spritzing the water directly onto the stamp.  After the panel was dry I heat embossed this fun sentiment in black.  I then trimmed the panel and adhered it to some floral patterned paper, adding black pearls as a finishing touch.

And if you just have to have this stamp set for yourself, you are in luck because I have an awesome coupon code just for you!

2017 #Goals: A Layout

Hi!  Since it is a new year, I've been doing what so many others have been doing and that means making some Goals for myself.  I thought it would be fun to type my goals up and add them to a layout with a photo of myself, take a peek...

This layout was created using the DCWV Royal Gypsy Paper Pad and the DIY Project Stack: Envelopes, both of which are available at your local Michaels Stores.  I love the colors blue and gold and I found the patterns fun and graphic so I just went with it.  I didn't really want my typed up goals to be on full display, so I thought adding an envelope would be a perfect way of keeping them accessible without sticking them straight on the paper.

The feathers and flower were fussy cut and the other cuts came from my Cricut® using some Gold Foil.  Thanks so much for stopping by today and we would love to hear what some of your goals for the New Year crafty or not!

Make A Wish - CAS Challenge

Hi!  Today starts a new Clean and Simple Challenge on the STAMPlorations Blog and it's the first one of the new year, woot woot!!!  This month we are challenging you to use silver and or grey.  Now this is just an optional twist, but I always find it so much fun to include these in my projects.  Take a peek at my card for today...

To create this card I started by stamping and masking the balloon image from Kathryn's Big Wishes Stamp Set.  I then added the string and began coloring then in with various Copic markers.  Next I stamped and embossed some little dots on my cards with a glittery silver embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment  from the same stamp set with a gray Memento Luxe Ink.  I then adhered it to a grey panel and added some silver stars.  I just love how soft this card is, and without the challenge twist to use grey or silver I'm not so sure I would have gone in this direction.  But that's what these challenges are for... to challenge you! :)

I can't wait to see what you will create this month!
Happy Crafting!

PS- I have a new code you can use when shopping at STAMPlorations yourself to receive 20% off your total!!!  Including sale prices!!! WOOT WOOT!!! ( you just can't combine it with other discount codes)
